Lead Trader Analysis
Published Aug 12, 2026 · Updated Aug 21, 2026
Lead trader analysis is due diligence before copying: enter a Binance lead trader’s portfolio ID or copy-trading URL, and AlphaFox fetches their public data on demand to build rule-based capability scores, trading-style labels, and a position breakdown. The entry is Opportunity discovery → Lead trader analysis in the sidebar; sign-in is required.
In one line: leader tracking shows you what a trader is doing right now; lead trader analysis shows you what kind of trader they have been. Check both before you copy.
Run an analysis
Get the portfolio ID or URL
Copy the lead trader’s portfolio ID (a numeric string) from their Binance copy-trading page, or just paste the browser URL of the lead-details page.
Pick a time range
7, 30, 90, 180, or 365 days. Start with 90 days or more—short windows flatter lucky streaks.
Hit “Analyze”
The report is generated from the trader’s public data on demand. Queries are rate-limited; if you hit the limit, wait a moment and retry.
Reading the report
Capability radar: six scores out of 10—profitability, fund size, stability, risk control, leverage, and overall. Scores are computed by fixed rules from public data, not by human opinion.
Summary cards: ROI, PnL, max drawdown, win rate, AUM, followers, positions analyzed, and average leverage. Same rule as always: read drawdown together with returns.
Performance curves: PnL and ROI. Look at the shape—steady growth beats a couple of lucky spikes.
Style labels: a trading profile distilled from position history, e.g. “major assets only”, “long bias”, “intraday trader”, “high win rate with small profits per position—martingale-like”. Use them to judge whether the style fits your risk tolerance.
Position history: every position’s side, PnL, leverage, holding time, and open/close times, plus aggregates like positive-PnL share and peak leverage.
Margin transfers: total deposits, withdrawals, and net inflow. A trader who frequently pulls large amounts out may have a less stable curve than it appears.
Per-symbol PnL: positions, total PnL, and win rate by symbol—see at a glance what they actually make money on.
Some lead traders publish incomplete data (for example, hidden positions). The report flags what is missing, which scores fall back to neutral estimates, and lowers its confidence accordingly.
After reading
- Worth copying: find their live signals in Leader Tracking and one-click copy, or add them as a signal source in Copy Signal Management.
- Not sure: copy on a paper connection first and compare behavior before committing real funds.
Scores and labels are references computed from historical public data, not investment advice. Past performance does not predict future returns—always read drawdown before copying anyone.
